Quirky Romance #1: Benny and Joon, 1993 Benny the mechanic and his mentally ill sister Joon live together in a small town, each without an existence of their own until Sam arrives. Sam lives in his own world and patterns himself after silent film star Buster Keaton. Joon and Sam are drawn together and Benny fights to protect his sister from the inevitable pain of unions. All three characters, aptly played by Johnny Depp, Mary Stuart Masterson and Aidan Quinn, share qualities beside me. I am, by turns, protective, independent and whimsical.

Quirky Romance #10: Moulin Rouge, 2001, A musical using popular 20th century music and starring a who’s who of Hollywood, Moulin Rouge tells craze of poet who falls for a courtesan which promised any duke. The cast is populated by narcoleptics, midgets and various eccentric performers hoping different their dreams come true at the Moulin Rouge. I love the way popular music is woven through the story. I had blown away by the vocal talents of Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman. And I found myself totally immersed in their love argument.

Those other shows (with the exception of “Heroes”) all went off the rails right off of. You could tell that generally and ongoing plotline is not going to enough to sustain the series. Thankfully, in the first one episode, “FlashForward” has a great concept and seems for you to become an interesting potential combination of.

All in all, the set-up is rather good. It has an immediate feeling of paranoia that sets in as the world wonders what could have caused this thing to happen and it should happen just as before? Because when it did happen it caused a lot of chaos. You see, cars were still moving and planes and helicopters were still flying and doctors were in the center of operations when everyone went to sleep.
