Quirky Romance #1: Benny and Joon, 1993 Benny the mechanic and his mentally ill sister Joon live together in a small town, each without your life of specific until Sam arrives. Sam lives inside the own world and patterns himself after silent film star Buster Keaton. Joon and Sam are drawn together and Benny fights to protect his sister from the inevitable pain of love affairs. All three characters, aptly played by Johnny Depp, Mary Stuart Masterson and Aidan Quinn, share qualities with me. I am, by turns, protective, independent and original.

The film works mostly thanks to Joe Walker’s crafty key phrases. It creates a lot of smoke and mirrors to distract moviegoers from shortcomings on the inside script co-written by Daniel Hardy and Mr. Wyatt, such as gaping plot holes and expository back stories not fleshed out there. They have given the cast so little to work with, that even a highly trained pro like Mr. Cox at times has that deer-in-the-headlights look on his face. The biggest problem, though, occurs when Messrs. Hardy and Wyatt try their hands by a climactic twist designed to clever, but which comes off as totally contrived. Within the way the situation is in Hollywood though, Mister. Wyatt has quite a bright future ahead.

There would be a time that “Titanic” was the hottest-selling movie involving time, and won an archive number of Oscars to prove it’s. Today, this Best Picture winner can often mocked on account of the love story, Celine Dion music, and outdated catchphrases. But the spectacle for this second half and James Cameron’s typical epic scale is to be able to be waived.
